Crumble Ball
had modest beginnings. You may have already played it when you
crumpled up some paper in your hand and tossed it at a friend, fellow
student, or co-worker. A dedicated group of affecianatos have
taken the game to new heights vastly improving on the ball, rules, and
the professionalism of the players. The ball? Well, it's no
longer a crumpled up piece of paper but professionally compressed,
recycled paper containing a lead weight which can vary from one to three
pounds. The game has stepped out of school rooms and cubicles into
arenas and the world of big money. Television still prefers the
Traditional Game
played in a mock classroom
but the more violently prone go in for the
Cubicle Game
played with the heavy ball, a favorite of Alaskan crab fishermen.
Arena Crumble Ball is still in its infancy and, as official organ of the
NCGA (National Crumble Ball Association) we are using this World Wide
Web Site to formalize the rule for all versions of the game both amateur
and professional. Teams will be formed here, on line, and visitors to
this site can hook up with their local leagues and buy equipment,
tickets, and uniforms from our store.
Indoor Golf
is
another sport we intended to revive. A set of standards are being drawn up for the office and loft versions of the game. We will
eventually go live as the ultimate arbitrator of this sports.
And, of
course, we are open to all other games that have fallen by the wayside as
we think such major sports as Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Hockey,
and Boxing
have seen their day and that the next big money game will be discovered on
these pages. We see a One Billion Dollar, winner
take all, Crumble Ball Championship.
